My Profile

Hello, I'm Cata Pérez,

goalkeeper and passionate about football!

At 29, I've had the honor of representing Colombia, winning the gold medal at the 2019 Pan American Games.

Currently, I defend the colors of the Colombian National Team and play with all my heart at Werder Bremen in Germany. Every match is an opportunity to showcase my dedication and love for this sport.

My journey goes beyond saves; it's a story of effort and overcoming. I invite you to explore my football world, discover exciting moments, and share the passion for women's football.

My Biography

I was born in Bogotá on November 8, 1994. Football became my great love at the age of 4. Although I also tried tennis and swimming, it was watching my brother play where I found my true passion.

My football journey began at SABR (Soccer Association of Boca Raton) in the United States. From ages 9 to 18, I was part of Team Boca. I studied at Saint Andrew's School, where I also participated in various sports, but I always knew that football would be my number 1.

At 15, I joined the Colombian Women's National Team, participating in the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Germany 2010, where we achieved 4th place. The following year, at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, I represented my country.

With a university scholarship for my football talent, I joined the University of Miami team. Additionally, I played for Mississippi State University, receiving the "All America" designation.

In 2018, I suffered an injury but used the time to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA). I worked in Boston for Banco Santander, and in 2019, we won the gold medal at the Pan American Games.

In 2020, I accepted the offer from AFC Fiorentina Femminile in Italy, but the pandemic halted activities. I returned to Colombia and continued training virtually.

In July, I joined Napoli Femminile, playing a season. In August 2021, I signed with Real Betis in Spain. In the 2022 Copa America, we were runners-up, qualifying for the FIFA Women's World Cup and the Olympics.

In 2023, I signed with Avaí FC in Brazil and shone in the FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia & New Zealand. Werder Bremen noticed my performance, and I joined the team after the tournament. Today, I defend their colors in the Bundesliga!
